Welcome to the E.C.C.A. Fire Department!
What is ECCA? that is one of the most common questions we get. E.C.C.A. stands for Elm Creek Citizens Association. Our community is not an incorporated town and doesn't have a formal name, but most people refer to it as Elm Vally or Elm Creek. Many of the folks that lived here during the mid 70's to for a citizens association. One of the first task to handle was fire protection, thus the ECCA Volunteer Fire Department was formed. The Citizens association had other functions such as neighborhood crime watch and other duties. Over time the Fire Department was the only thing still functioning.
Our area centers around the intersection of FM 89 and Hwy 277 about 25 miles South of Abilene Texas. The fire district covers the Abilene State Park, Camp Tonkawa, Lake Abilene, Coronado's Camp, and other popular sites.
The ECCA Fire Department is 100% volunteer and has about 25 Firefighters and many members that serve in administrative, financial, and support roles. We have 2 stations and currently operate a total of 8 emergency vehicles.
