A landowner in Wingate/Shep area set a "control burn" Saturday that got out of control hours later despite many warning of the danger. The result was a couple of hundred acres burned and many hours of firefighting for 2 days from 6 different departments. It also cost a couple of tires, fuel, and other damage to some of the brush trucks, tankers, and firefighting equipment. 1 firefighter from ECCA suffered a moderate injury.
